Bryan Adams
The Canadian rock singer of "Summer of '69" and "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" — still writing, recording and touring
Active — Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer-songwriter and one of the best-selling rock artists of all time. He remains active, touring and recording into the mid-2020s.
Bryan Adams was born in 1959 in Kingston, Ontario, and raised across Canada and abroad. He emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a straightforward, radio-friendly rock singer-songwriter, and by the mid-1980s he was one of the biggest stars in the world. His 1984 album "Reckless" produced a string of hits, including "Run to You" and "Summer of '69," that became staples of rock radio.
His commercial peak came in 1991 with "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," the theme from the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." The ballad went to number one around the world and became one of the best-selling singles in music history, cementing Adams as a global draw.
Adams has been remarkably durable. He has continued to tour relentlessly and release new material, and he also maintains a well-regarded second career as a photographer and philanthropist. He has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of one-tour project), and has never stopped performing.
