One of the biggest voices of the century — a global superstar now resting between chapters

Active — Adele is one of the best-selling singers of the 21st century. After her long Las Vegas residency, "Weekends with Adele", ended in 2024, she is taking a break from performing and reportedly planning a return to music.

Adele, born Adele Adkins in London in 1988, made her breakthrough with the 2008 debut album 19 and songs such as "Chasing Pavements" and "Hometown Glory". Her soulful voice and heartfelt songwriting quickly marked her out as one of the most distinctive talents of her generation.

The 2011 album 21 turned her into a global phenomenon, driven by the singles "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain". It became one of the best-selling albums of all time and swept the major awards, and she followed it with 25 (2015) — home to "Hello" — and 30 (2021), with "Easy on Me". Adele has won numerous Grammy Awards and remains one of the planet's biggest stars.

In 2022 Adele launched "Weekends with Adele", a residency in Las Vegas, which ran for around two years before ending in 2024. Since then she has largely stepped back from performing, and in 2026 reports emerged of her planning a comeback. She also balances her career with life as a mother, moving between the UK and the US.
