Westlife were one of the biggest boy bands of the 2000s, with a record run of UK number-one hits. After splitting in 2012 and reuniting in 2018, they are still touring today as a four-piece.
The band that defined an era
Westlife formed in 1998 in Ireland with the support of Boyzone's Ronan Keating and were soon one of the most successful pop acts in the UK and Ireland. Their polished vocals and string-laden ballads made them a mainstay of the charts for over a decade.
A record run of number ones
The band was famous for an astonishing streak of chart-topping singles, among them "Swear It Again", "Flying Without Wings", "My Love", "Uptown Girl" and "Mandy". At their peak they were one of the best-selling boy bands in the world, with a large fanbase in Asia as well as Europe.
A split and a reunion
Brian McFadden left in 2004, and the remaining four carried on until 2012, when the band split and members pursued solo careers. Westlife reunited in 2018, and the four of them have toured and recorded together since, releasing new music and celebrating their legacy.
Where Westlife are now
Westlife are still active, playing the "Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour" with arena dates and UK and European legs into 2026. They remain hugely popular, a nostalgic act that continues to draw large crowds decades after their first hits.
