About the atlas
Find the story behind any name
WhereIsAtlas is a discovery platform for the questions that start with “what happened to…” and “where is… now?” — answered with timelines, maps, sources and review dates, not clickbait.
What we do
We maintain a registry of public figures, public companies and organizations, places, countries and historical events. Each entry carries a verified status (active, defunct, transformed, acquired, deceased…), a dated timeline with honest precision, quick facts, and a sources list you can actually open.

Researches, writes and reviews every entry personally. Reachable via the contact page — accountability is the point.
What we are not
- Not a people-tracker. We do not locate anyone in real time, publish private addresses or phone numbers, or aggregate personal data about private individuals.
- Not a gossip site. Sensational or unverified claims don't ship. If a story rests on one anonymous source, it waits for a second.
- Not Wikipedia. We write original summaries of public facts and cite the record — never wholesale copies.
How entries stay honest
Every fact-heavy page shows its sources and a last-reviewed date. Entries are re-checked on a 90-day cycle, corrections ship within 48 hours, and the methodology behind every status label is published in full. See the methodology and the corrections policy.
Who it's for
The curious (what happened to that store from your childhood), students and researchers (verified timelines in one place), journalists and creators (a cited starting point), and anyone who wants the answer with receipts.
